>> happy ab fab girls!

what our clients say about Rachel

After a back operation, putting on weight and not knowing what exercise I could and couldn’t do, I contacted Rachel.  After a consultation with my doctor, Rachel put together an exercise routine for me which was great.

Each training session is dedicated to my individual needs and varies each time we meet and works different parts of the body.  Working from home as I do, it is great to have someone come to the house so that I can train without having to leave home.

Rachel also advises on nutrition and helps you train your eating habits as well as your body! Having short term goals and regular sessions keeps me focused and on track.  Rachel is an inspirational trainer and is highly motivated - I look forward to our action packed, fun-filled sessions!

I plucked up the courage to call Rachel and it was a really good move. I have never been extremely slim but I had been healthier and happier. I had a painful and stiff Achilles following a complete rupture of my tendon about 6 years before and just generally felt I was getting out of condition. I was not very happy with myself and felt quite miserable.

Rachel is so down to earth and so supportive. I have been seeing her weekly for about a year now and my general physical and mental health has improved so much. I have a lot more energy and can cope with the stresses and strains of everyday life with a renewed vigour.

I started working with Rachel as my personal trainer in January 2006 after a number of failed New Years' resolutions to get fitter.  At that time, I was lacking in energy, felt flabby and got puffed after running about 100m.  After a year of working with Rachel, I am fitter, more toned and happier with my body shape than I have been in years.  I also have more energy so my life is not all work any more and I have the energy to do more in the evenings than be a couch potato.

I had been to a number of personal trainers in gyms over the years but I had found them intimidatingly hard core and the fitness regimes they put me on failed by being too hard to fit around my life and too physically demanding for my fitness level which just made me depressed when I couldn't keep them up.  Rachel started slowly building up what we did each week, making me feel like I was making progress and gave me exercises that I could do at home.

She is always great fun - we have a laugh while we exercise and she's been a life coach along the way helping with nutrition tips, positive encouragement and hugs through quite a hard year for me.  I would recommend anyone who is thinking about having a personal trainer to go for it with Rachel.  You'll be amazed at the results.

I signed up to having weekly sessions with Rachel last summer 2006 and I haven't looked back.  I feel completely different to my previous self; more toned, stronger and fitter.

I look forward to my sessions with Rachel as her programmes are so varied and I never know what to expect.  My favourite exercise so far has to be boxing which I think worried my boyfriend at first!

As well as exercising, I have also been trying to eat healthier and now have an organic vegetable box delivered.  This has resulted in a new found love of cooking, something I previously wouldn't have thought possible!

I was in a bit of a rut when it came to fitness and despite already being a member of a gym thought that a regular weekly session at home would keep me focused and introduce some new exercises.

It has been great fun working with Rachel.  The sessions are never predictable as she brings in new exercises and an ever amazing range of exercise gadgets and gizmos to try out !!  She does like shopping at trade fairs.

Rachel works hard to support your current goals and has been invaluable at different times with preparing me for skiing holidays, long sponsored walks and the like with the appropriate exercises, tips and advice.

I was fast approaching 40 and was fed up of owning two spare tyres – 1 in the car and the other around my middle!!  I don’t do gyms – they are places for guinea pigs who like other guinea pigs watching them sweat!!

There are times at the end of a long busy day that the thought of exercise is the last straw but I always feel better after a Rach session mentally as well as physically.

I haven’t turned into Elle Macphearson, but Rach got me into the best shape I have ever been which enabled me to walk the Inca Trail for my 40th……I would still be putting my boots on before.  Again it’s not just physical but mental training as well.

I often walk around thinking CORE IN!!

I rang Rachel 4 weeks before going on holiday and a special birthday, desperate to lose more weight and tone up.  3 months earlier I had started using a pedometer which had shown me how little basic exercise I was doing on a daily basis, so I started to try and achieve 10,000 steps a day and eating healthily but the weight was now stagnant and I needed HELP!

Rachel managed to fit me in and we began training twice a week – it worked and the weight started to move again but more importantly I began to see a much more toned body appearing and I was feeling fantastic.  I also looked amazing for my birthday!

I now see Rachel once a week and she is my addiction not chocolate (although I still love chocolate) but I love being in control of my body - It is a self fulfilling achievement.  Rachel also has to listen to my week’s news or even blues and she does this whilst pushing me on to look & feel great.   I look forward to our sessions each week, having a bit of a natter, sometimes putting the world to rights and all the time achieving a fit healthy body – fantastic!

And finally……
I see Rachel as helping my future health.  The future is looking good.

1) I wanted to make changes in my life but was not quite sure how to do it.  My overall confidence around my body but also in my overall ability was waning – we have a boss to guide us in our working life but no one impartial doing it in our private lives.
2) I think the honesty and trust is there – I know that I can say anything (within reason – ha-ha) and it won’t be judged or taken any further.  I feel uplifted after the sessions and ready to take on what life throws at me.
3) I have lost weight, joined a gym, given up smoking………now eat organic/healthy food.  I am much more aware of my impact on my surroundings (recycle, carbon neutral conscious – if that is a word?) and I ended up being top sales person for my company!!!!

I decided to get a life coach after coping with my divorce. I'd got through the first year but had got "stuck" and couldn't seem to motivate myself to take the next steps to moving on e.g. my lifestyle, my career, who I was as a new single person etc.  I felt positive about life and wanted to think about a longer term plan for the future. It was rather like moving out of a fog...

I enjoyed talking to someone who was impartial and a good listener. It was really useful to bounce ideas around and discuss possibilities. With humour, sensitivity and challenging questions, a life coach helps you to face the big questions and attempt to find some answers. The process is perhaps more important than the outcome...

I liked the homework tasks as they made things clearer - importantly a life coach does not give you the answers, but helps you to figure things out for yourself. The notebook that I kept is still useful and helps me to identify the things that matter to me. I still use mind maps and visualisation activities to support my work.

I appreciated Rachel's openness to try "new age ish" ideas such as the dragon dance CD and crystal directed meditation. These helped me to relax and deal with the stresses in my new life.

My self-confidence is coming back.  I believe that I'm better at communicating my needs with my new partner and am less afraid to say how I feel even if I know that he won't like it! I try to be honest and thoughtful.

I think that I'm a more pragmatic person and try to view situations from a variety of angles before making decisions, maybe I'm less reactive and more proactive.  I still need to do more exercise and avoid comfort eating, comfort spending etc. but  I'm not so hard on myself if I don't manage to achieve all my targets.

My life has certainly improved since working with a life coach and I would recommend it to anyone who feels that they have lost direction in their life, or needs help to focus on what to do next.

Rachel’s enthusiasm & positive outlook make her ideally suited to be a life coach.  She is knowledgeable in many areas of health & fitness and has a holistic approach to whatever issues are being addressed. She is 100% committed to helping her client, is full of ideas, and most importantly, never gives up on you so you keep believing your goal is possible!
