After a back operation, putting on weight and not knowing what exercise I could and couldn’t do, I contacted Rachel.  After a consultation with my doctor, Rachel put together an exercise routine for me which was great.

I was fast approaching 40 and was fed up of owning two spare tyres – 1 in the car and the other around my middle!!  I don’t do gyms – they are places for guinea pigs who like other guinea pigs watching them sweat!!

There are times at the end of a long busy day that the thought of exercise is the last straw but I always feel better after a Rach session mentally as well as physically.

The food diary showed up quite a few things I didn't realise before, such as that I always gave into sugary snacks mid-afternoon and I tend to eat far too many carbohydrates. Rachel's advice was very sensible and really just meant making a few minor amendments rather than a total overhaul.

The programme was full of the encouragement a weak willed person like I needed.

There was a target set, a diary to fill in for my daily intake and my record of activities.This helped and made me realize the link between the food and exercise and how I felt in body.  You feel you know most things but mostly you are kidding yourself and in denial.

The advice on the importance of good planning ahead,ie,holidays etc was very important and achievable.
