do you suffer from back problems?

Back problems are one of the most common causes of absence in the UK.  A staggering 7 out of 10 of us suffer with back pain at some point in our lives.   

back pain is generally caused by weakened muscles from:
- bad posture,
- being over weight,
- lifting or moving heavy objects incorrectly
- being inactive
- slouching
- sleeping on a mattress that’s well past its sell by date
- driving hunched over the steering wheel
- sitting in front of a computer for hours on end
- standing for long periods of time


People who take part in exercise that concentrates on strengthening and working with the core stability muscles (the muscles that protect the spine from damage and keep you upright) generally find improvements in their back health.

Pilates when done correctly helps you become more body aware, strengthens your core stability muscles and realigns your posture.

what is Pilates?
Pilates is a low-impact, gentle form of exercise offering a system of gentle effective movements that reduce tension, de-stress and revitalise the mind and body, resulting in an improvement posture, balance and flexibility. 

Pilates focuses on body awareness through muscle isolation and concentrates on developing the strength of the core stability muscles to improve postural alignment.

This form of exercise is suitable for any age and level of fitness.

how can I do it?
- one to one sessions (prices are the same as diamond level personal training), we recommend you do a
  course of at least
10 sessions to see a difference. 
- classes of no more than 10 participants held at venues in the Thames Valley (
timetable)
- corporate 45 - 60 minute non-sweat classes at your office in your lunch hour (female only, male only or
  mixed, you choose!)
